Edit: I have been browbeaten on the mistake in the name, so now I am doing it right (hopefully?).
Hack, or Hacking is a term normally associated with bad boys of internet or computers. But by it meaning it is a word that means getting access to something. This is some meaning that ClubHack is trying to explore in its first inception year. brain Child of Rohit Srivastwa a dear friend of mine. Being one of its organizing committee member I will be looking after some responsibilities that Rohit feels I am good for (mostly something related to paper presentation.). This is one camp I am eagerly looking forward to, as it looks like we will have some good guys from around the world. This is one forum that we wish to provide to our Indian Hackers to showcase their talent.
The Call for Papers (CFP) is already out and can be found here. It covers many interesting topics like
# Protocol / Application based vulnerability in networks and computers
# Firewall Evasion techniques
# Intrusion detection/prevention
# SPAM fighting
# Data Recovery and Incident Response
# Mobile Security (cellular technologies)
# Virus and Worms
# WLAN and Bluetooth Security
…
# Cyber Crime & law (Complete List is available at the link.)
Apart from paper presentation also there is a demo and poster competition for the given list of topics. There is also some interesting competitions for those who want to flex their Grey muscles! The competitions will be team as well as individual competitions and judged based on sheer performance against threats. (As of now, we might have to change this as per our understanding going further.).
All in all an interesting event to look forward to. I in all probability will be a virtual participant though, unless Rohit plans to fly me and Andy all the way from US for this event…
