Interesting…

Language Requires Consensus…

- Larry Wall.

and he yet created Perl :-) … Per’s motto is TMTOWTDI – There’s more than one way to do it. Is that not interesting? If I were to be polite to not call it contradicting!

Thoughts?

SkillsCamp Pune.

Come 18th of August and we will be hosting a first of its kind camp at some location (Symbiosis mostly, not yet finalized) concentrating on training the attendees on various technical topics and in turn we will be able to create content which will be used for spreading awareness of technology across to the under-privileged and people living in remote areas of the world. The very association with this kind of a task makes me feel happy and a bit satisfied that I am doing something to reach out to the people who really are there keen on learning knowledge, but are either challenged by the place where they live or have some other hurdles.

This whole effort is being driven by Freeman Murray, who is working on this project to reach out with the technical knowledge from the elite few to the millions out there. I am happy to be a minuscule part of this movement that is coming up. I believe that may be I could do some Dojos or some sessions concentrating on some of the technologies that I claim I know.

I am really excited about this camp and hope it gets some good things for the attendees and helps us connect to the world in a little better way.

To join us at the skills camp drop a mail to me or you could search for a Google group SkillsCamp.

BarCamp3 my last in Pune…

I am at BarCampPune3, Persistent Systems Pune. Second session in room PG-4 is on and this time we have a Microsoft technology speaker not some thing we see at BarCamp! :-) … This is Aditya Thatte speaking on MS Silverlight technology. This looks good and as expected a MS “FAT” product! Ahh, MS and word light do not go together ;) . Its a tea break here and most of the attendees have left for some coffee. Next session is scheluded at 12:00 noon. Catch you guys then… have a nice day… Break is over and we are in a Game development on this track. Talking about some game development tool. I am sure some game geeks around are loving it. In the mean time I have updated the wiki with the time table for first two tracks. huh! finally it is up there. It is the Lunch Break.

Well this is the third time I am writing this, after lunch and hope this does not get lost in the middle. To quickly summarize after lunch we have had some interesting sessions. One on flash by Hussain and by Andy (Anand Kishore) who did a great presentation on “LifeLogger” . I liked it. Something I have been working on too. Felt nice to have some techie presentation.

Right now we are in a presentation by Murray Freeman, on opensource in education. He is doing a good work of creating content for delivering quality education to rural part of India.

Break for tea / coffee.

After the break, we are now in a lecture or session by some mango spring people on Comet D. some thing about push technology, my friend Andy sitting besides me would be able to say better, but says he is not keen on writing about it.

More to come
